sound artist based in sheffield

David Morin born 1974 in Nogent sur Marne was introduced to music playing the trombone in various bands in France. It was when he arrived in Sheffield that he delved into the art of field recording and computer based generated music. His practice includes sound installation, video, and live performances.

Aspects of his work consider the implementation of small samples of field recording used and layered to create immersive auditory landscapes. He composes music for short films created by video artists Laure Carnet and Arnaud Aimé and creates the sound pieces of the shadow puppeteering theatre company ‘Le Theatre du Nuit’, which is currently touring across France.

For a few year now he has been living in Sheffield where he has met with sound artist Neil Webb with whom he has created several sound pieces played live at BLOC Studio gallery in Sheffield.
